Push Button Rich & Creamy Milk Foam

Milk foam poured into coffee

Perfect milk foam for coffee looks like white velvet. It feels as smooth as silk in your mouth. To create this sublime effect you want those super small, tight bubbles. Big frothy bubbles are no bueno. The greatest training we gave our new baristas always was on how to properly create rich and creamy milk foam using a steam wand. The wand is what you will find on most commercial espresso machines in coffee shops or higher end machines for the home.

However most people certainly don’t have the time to master a steam milk wand since it takes a significant amount of training, practice, and time to become proficient. But, there is another way for those of us making coffee at home or the office who want that velvety experience in our mouth with our morning coffee. And creamy milk foam doesn't have to be just for cappuccino - it's great with any coffee!

In fact there is a way to create this beautiful milk automatically, simply by the press of a button. Coming from experience owning a coffee shop that produced world class coffee, I was skeptical at first for any automatic method for milk foam. That was until I tried the automatic milk frother that we use at home. A key requirement I have for a tool in the home kitchen is that I can be thrown in the dishwasher after use.

Below is the automatic milk frother we use and that I recommend to make milk foam. Not only will is this the best way to create milk foam that is velvety smooth and tasty for your coffee at home, it’s another fun thing to look forward to as part of your morning routine.
